The logo of TIPRC consists of six rays of light and a vortex implying letter “e”. Red and black are the basic colors most commonly used by Taiwan indigenous peoples. Red represents energy and black stands for wisdom; the color brown signifies land.
The vortex at the center derives from an indigenous totem symbol, and its appearance resembles “e”, which stands for information. And it is the central point of six rays of light as well. The six rays of light represent TIPRC's collection in different subjects such as ecology, culture, art, education, industry and medical health. The vortex-like logo appears to rotate and simultaneously conveys and draws in information from different directions. The six rays of light and dots present the constant search for comprehensive knowledge of indigenous peoples.
The design of the logo indicates it moves toward the top right direction, just like the sun or comet which possesses creativity and passion. It is designed with the hope that indigenous peoples' unique culture will keep on generating possibilities. The brown circle is not closed, which indicates that TIPRC is equipped with pioneer spirit for future opportunities.
